- We are very proud of our colleague for receiving such a great honor. The award means that Lu Chen is among the world's elite and shows that AAU can attract talented researchers from the very highest level of the international research community, says Professor Christian S. Jensen, who works with Lu Chen at AAU.
Lu Chen (second from the left in the picture) moved to Aalborg In October 2017 to continue her research at the Department of Computer Science at AAU after having submitted her PhD thesis at Zhejiang University in China and after one year as a postdoc at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. The China Computer Federation has now recognized the thesis as one of the 10 best in Computer Science in all of China in 2017 – a major accomplishment in a country with more than 2500 universities and an abundance of high-level researchers.
- Aalborg University has an excellent faculty in Computer Science and I have learned a lot from my new coworkers. Being an assistant professor at Aalborg University offers me a great opportunity to work with these excellent researchers and offers me a great platform for better research, says Lu Chen who now continues her research in databases at the Department of Computer Science at AAU.
Crucial to attract talented researchers
At the beginning of February Lu Chen was in China to receive the award at a ceremony organized by the China Computer Federation. In addition to being a great personal honor for Lu Chen, this is also very significant for AAU where Lu Chen conducts research in databases.
